About Us

THE STORY:  Interview and capture military experiences
THE RESOURCE:  Informational forums and celebrations
THE SPIRIT:  Supporting faith based veteran initiatives

Sister Soldier Network is an organization that celebrates the experiences and honors service to country of all women and enhances the visibility and viability of black women who served. The Sister Soldier Network identifies and records the service of veterans, offer informational sessions about and for all veterans with an emphasis on race and gender and  collaborates with faith based community organizations to build bridges that mobilize, engage and support the health and well-being of military families and veterans.

People of color have served in every military endeavor since America’s beginnings. Black shero warrior women share a legacy that stretches across the millennia. The life stories of these unsung sheroes have largely been silent even in the communities from which they came.

Acknowledging the challenges and joys of military service gives voice and visibility to the rich legacy and history of Sister Soldiers whenever and where she served . Initial activities of the Sister Soldier Network will identify and record the service of Black Women Veterans, offer informational sessions about and for women veterans and develop collaborations with faith based community organizations to build bridges that mobilize, engage and support health and well-being of military families and veterans.
